Good Morning Palm Spring Presbyterian Church! As we move forward into the new year, we extend a very warm welcome to Pastor Sally Willis-Watkins to our church. Pastor Sally has kindly offered to serve as our guest pastor for a few weeks going forward as we continue to complete our processes for calling our new pastor. Welcome Pastor Sally and thank you for leading our service today. Our next Session meeting is Tuesday, Jan 19th, and hopefully will be joined at this meeting by our two new elders, Bill Cameron and Bill Miller. The voting ballots for our nominated deacons and elders went out by email and US mail to all members this past week. Thank you to those of you that have responded with your votes. We hope to have all votes back to us by Monday, Jan 11th, we can put our new deacons and elders to work. Our next Sonshine Newsletter will be available in February, so if anyone has pictures, articles or updates on you or any of your loved ones to contribute to it, please call the office. Your voices are very important to us, so please do help us communicate. We have birthday wishes to extend to several very special people: Rick Anderson, Stan Griffeth, Norman Ross, and Bob Coates. We extend very special wishes to all of you for a very happy, healthy and blessed year. |

Gathering Song | God Welcomes All | Hymn #399 |
One: In the beginning God created. All: And it was good. One: In the present God creates. All: And it is good. One: In the future God will continue creating. All: And it will be good. One: Let us gather to worship God. All: Who creates goodness in, through, and all around us. Amen. |

Welcoming | My Peace | Rev. Sally Wills-Watkins |
Loving Lord, you have given us the gift of faith, yet we have left this precious gift wrapped up inside us. We would rather hold on to our own goals, our own plans, our own petty disputes, and our own prejudices. Our hands cling tightly to the things of this world, which we grasp in our feeble attempts at security. With closed hands and clenched fists, with stingy hearts and fearful eyes, we have refused to use the gifts you have given us so freely. Teach us to let go of what will not save us, and to embrace you with arms wide open. Show us how to accept the faith you grant us, and how to live that faith showing your grace to others. |

Passing of the Peace | I Just Came To Praise The Lord | Congregarion |
Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ. And Christ was born for us. Christ died for us. Christ rose for us. And Christ reigns in power. For us. Hear and believe the good news of the gospel: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven. |

Life of the Church | For the Beauty of the Earth | Elder Carole Rogers |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |

Prelude | Gloria Patri | Alex Danson |
ALL: Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen |
