Welcoming/Preparing to Meet with God | “My Peace” (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
God of the heavens and the earth, we live our days secure in the promise of your love and grace. We laugh under the sun and stand in awe of the stars. We reap the harvest and are sustained by the earths’ bounty. We accept your generosity. Why, then, do we not serve you more? Why do we not serve others more? Help us, dear Lord, to not be afraid to give of ourselves, help us make time for service, and guide us in all that we do. We ask in Jesus’ name, Amen. |
||
Life of the Church/Announcements | Special Music | Elder Harvey Stephens |
Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace. Amen. |

Passing of the Peace | “For the Beauty of the Earth” | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | “Gloria Patri” | Joanne Bourquin, flute |
God, source of all light, by your Word you give light to the soul. Pour out upon us the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that, through the Scriptures, our hearts and minds may be opened to know your will in our lives. Amen. |
