ONE: May the peace of Christ be with you.

Happy are those whose sin is forgiven, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. Therefore let all who are faithful offer prayer to the God of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go, as you trust in the Lord. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous; shout for joy, all you upright in heart. Let us worship God! 

ALL: O God, our Rock and Redeemer, hear our confession. We worship idols of our own making; when temptation overtakes us we submit to its charm. We find it easier to grumble at hardships than to praise you for mercies we receive day by day. We test you in every way. Yet you promise that you will not test us beyond our endurance. Forgive us when we take advantage of your loving nature, and restore us to communion with you.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen

Refuge of those who put their trust in you, you do not seek vain sacrifice, nor will you hear empty praises. You take delight in contrite hearts that are ready to do your will. Accept our offerings of praise and thanksgiving, mingled with these tangible gifts that we willingly surrender. They are symbols of our response to your call to repentance and our earnest desire to become more faithful stewards. Amen.
